This French pressing and cover art of Tropical Fantasy is much more colorful and exciting that the US version (even though the rare stereo US covers have a little 3-D flicker of hands on a bongo!). I love finding the same photo or model and photo shoot used on different covers. Sometimes they are covers from different country that got the photo from some stock photo house. Sometime it’s the same budget label using the same photo on various releases of their own. I guess to save money. Anyway, I’ll show you this cover shot on another lp when I put my hands on it. This is fantastic. Great color. Great type. From the early sixties. An obscure Latin pressing. Look at the great period drawing of the space ship and aliens behind the photo of Mario in song.

Jim Flora created one of the first influential graphic styles for lp packaging in the early 1950’s. His illustrations were on hundreds of covers and his style was copied by others. There are books that collect his work.
