Songs for Swinging Mothers  One of the High In-Fidelity Records  (1962)  A series of comical cover-only “greeting cards”  Just a cardboard disc inside with liner notes to help you make your own mixtape:  “Suggested titles, suitable for enclosure in this Album Cover, are as follows:  “The Things We Did Last Summer”, “What Can I Say After I Say ‘I’m Sorry”, ” Get Me to the Church on Time”, “This Could be the Start of Something Big”, “Careless Love”, “Don’t Blame Me”, “Thou Swell” … get it?!

According to Kliph Nesteroff, a comedian/actor named Jackie Kannon helped come up with this concept.

“Kannon and a gent named Alex Roman devised a series of memorable vinyl records with no vinyl involved. Their series of gag albums were sold in the greeting card section of drugstores. Their first, Songs for Swinging Mothers, featured a photo on the cover of six pregnant women standing on a playground swingset. The pretend record label was called High In-Fidelity.”
