Love your site! I’d like to contribute with this:

Stan Hasselgard, Swedish clarinet player on Capitol, recorded 1948, issued 1949 on 78 and on this EP early 50’s. Is that signature (only the last part “in” visible) David Stone Martin’s ???

Here is a psychedelic relic even though it is a disc from the 80s.

This is what 12 x 12 album art was made for.

Thanks for your great site. How do I attach a jpg?

    Hi Matt,

Your site keeps getting better and better. Hopefully you, Tony and I will get together at the next FMU show.

Hey feel free to post whatever gems from my web site you want. Yeah, a plug for my site never hurts but hopefully it’s mutually beneficial. I’m gonna put a link to your site on my web site, so now you have no choice! (lol). Do they call that “aggressive marketing” in the biz (or “friendly persuasion??).

Anyway, have fun if you want to use some of the pics.

Haemorrhage – “Chainsaw Necrotomy” Split LP with Dead, designed by myself.

I’m a big fan of these sickos from Spain since I’ve heard their debut album “Emetic Cult”, in 1995! For me it’s the No. 1 Gore/Grind band!
I offered Luisma (guitarist, one of the founders and designer) a cover for a further release and he liked my website that much, that he stopped with the artwork for this split LPand gave me the go-ahead! I’m very pleased with it, especially after the difficult photo sessions.

PS: Beetroot juice tastes awful! 😉

I bought this album in a charity shop in the summer for 20p (that’s four shillings in real money!). I love the cover. I really hope those kids, who will be in their late 40s by now, grew up to be rich, famous, and happy though I have a strong suspicion they are both doing life sentences for slaughtering the parents who made them do modelling jobs like this one.

The Goodwill Stores here in Dover and Milford (Delaware) have numerous truck deliveries and a few dollars here and there wind up being priceless! Our children will benefit and keep the records in the family, I hope.

Love the concept of the site! Album covers kind of give a face to the music in a sort of way…attached is original album art for the Miami-based band Telekinetic Walrus and The Pride of Ions. I think the psychedelic/celestial theme that underlies the album art directly parallels with the music.

You could link to Radio Bastet’s cover gallery:

She has a ton. I’d like to upload some of my own belly dance – Mideast – Greek collection, but no time…

I’ve always gotten a laugh from funny album covers, thanks for these! If you have an android phone and you want to try something fun, we have an app that creates (fake) funny album covers. It’s called Funny Album Generator. It’s free, or there’s a 99 cent version without ads. I hope you like it!

    Hi Matt,
Only just found your site tonight.
You guys are doing a great job!!
    Keep it up.
I did a similar site (called: lpcovers.com) back in 1999, for a couple of years.
I was more focused on individual cover artwork (one LP/page), based on artist/designer, music genre and a full (as best I could research it) history of the selected cover.
It took a lot of work and it was a ‘labour-of-love’.
In the end it just got too hard to keep it fresh, so, sadly, I pulled the site.
I have a personal collection of over 5000 LPs, bought my 1st LP in 1963 and haven’t stopped since.
I did find one LP on your site I had never seen before.
    ‘Dali in Venice’.
A good piece of Dali artwork! I look forward to finding a copy.
And the reason for this lengthy post is to let you know of another Dali cover that the artist did for a Jackie Gleason LP, back in 1955.
It’s called ‘Lonesome Echo’. Not his best work, he probably turned it out in an afternoon! I have the original LP but I found a link to it in someone’s blog.
    So here it is!
Keep up up the good work!!!
    Cheers,
    Peter

This is a quite interesting cover: http://farm1.staticflickr.com/40/102808551_6ea335fe60.jpg

Some Background (from Wikipedia): “Heino (born 13 December 1938, Düsseldorf as Heinz Georg Kramm) is a German singer of popular music (Schlager) and traditional Volksmusik.

Known for his bass voice, blond hair, and ever-present sunglasses (due to exophthalmos), Heino resides in the small town of Bad Münstereifel where he owns a cafe, and plays his own music in the background. His interest in music started when his mother gave him an accordion in 1948, although his family couldn’t actually afford it.”
