Van Wood   “Intorno al Mondo”   Fonit Records (Italy)   (Special thanks to Ulf in Sweden)   Love it!

McDonald’s Cave   By The Piltdown Men   Capitol Records Sweden   (Thanks again Ulf)     I feel like this photo is on a U.S. album cover too.   I’ll think of it.   Unless someone out there can first.   I’ll throw in an LP Cover Lover T-shirt to anyone that can show me an American released LP with the same cover…

“Confessions of an EX-Roman Catholic Priest”   Emmett McLoughlin   Recorded in 1962     “Uncensored!!!”   “Uncut!!!”   “Startling!!!”   “Shocking!!!”   Here’s the back cover in response to your request for more information (Thanks to WBN!,LG…)

“Sing It Again, Sam!”   The inimitable song stylings of Sam Sacks   Arliss Records   For those unfamiliar with the wonder of WFMU’s Beware of the Blog let this be a welcome introduction.   Go to BOTB and listen to Sam’s fantastically awful mauling of standards.   A private recording on par with the best of the worst from Mrs. Miller, Lucia Pamela and Florence Foster Jenkins.   I gotta find a copy!

Ann-Margret strikes a stunning pose on the cover of this lost gem from Japan.   Faust(o) Papetti   “Alto Sax Screen Time”   Globe Records

Sun Ra and his Arkestra featurig John Gilmore on Tenor Sax     I don’t have any information about this as I don’t have the disc, just the cover, which is “homemade.”   The back is all pasted over with gold foil and the front has hand-coloring and some stickers.     I think that this covered one of Sun Ra’s records on Saturn.   Any Sun Ra followers out there that can shine some light here?

J.P Teaches You To Rock!! (Columbia Records)

Step 1.   The overexcited greeting

Step 2.   A little air guitar

Step 3.   Laugh at a joke

Step 4.   Lay your cards on the table

Step 5.   “I’m totally broke!”

Step 6:   Always finish with Jazz Hands…

“La Gorda”   Exitos de los Llopis con Anardy Lopez   Colonia Records

“Heaven’s Satellite”   with The Good News Singers from Bakersfield, California.   Vision Records   This one is highly sought after and rarely found.

“Music To Dream By”   Valentino and His Orchestra     GMS Records     An exceptional example of a 1950’s cheesecake cover on a record of quite unexceptional music.   Looks quite common but it’s really very rare.
