Motorcycle Man
Thanks for this cool one Otis!
“Buddy Mize. Obscure private press tribute to the kings of AMA dirt-track and road racing of the late 60’s and early 70’s. Wonderful “folk art” llustration on front I would kill for the original of. Total DIY piece from So-Cal. I found this missing the Lp so I have no idea what it sounds like, but from the titles it looks great. Most of the tracks are listed as “narration & theme” and are by Melva Murphy. Damn, I want to hear this! Anybody out there have a copy?” – www.otisrecords.com

Dear Clyde,
My husband and I are trying to find out about Melva Murphy. He just purchashed the lithograph set of the top 10-1969 AMA Grand National Champions (original paintings were done by Melva). We are from Iowa and was told she was an Iowa Artist.
We have serched and searched and can find nothing on her. Can you recommend possible sites to research?
Thank you!
Kathleen

We just received a copy of this LP. We would like to put a few of the tunes in our flattrack videos. If anyone has any information on the copyright holdings, we would love to hear from you!

Clyde. I used to have this exact album! I still remember most of the words to the songs on it. Can you please help me aqiure another copy? or help me find someone who can put it on a cd or cassett tape? This album was very special to me and dearly missed. It had been ruined in storage and thrown away.

I played guitar and bass on this LP. It was recorded at Faron Young’s old studio on Music Row in Nashville. It’s now called the Young Building. I worked for Buddy Mize at Central Songs / Beechwood Music.
