Granted, I am a life-long, die-hard-and-often Cubs fan, but I have seen an awful lot of baseball in my time, and one of my favourite Mets teams ever did not win the World Series — the 1973 squad, who finished 83-79 but still knocked off the Reds in the NLCS and nearly took out the A’s in the WS. Seaver, Koosman, Matlack & McGraw — who gave us “You Gotta Believe!” All the best to all you Mets fans.
