The Beetlettes!! “Outside Carnegie Hall” Assault Records An “answer” record from a girl group I’ve never seen before. Includes songs like “I Saw HIM Standing There” and “This GIRL” and “Yep, You CAN Hold My Hand” Anybody ever seen this one? Know anything about it?

I only know of this 45, which is by a group who spells their name differently. Instead of an entire album, it’s just one single that references numerous different Beatle tunes in the lyrics:

I like that lyre bass she has there; John Entwistle used to play one of those in The Who’s early days.

The group were a Toronto based group consisting of 5 girls wearing blonde wigs. In french they called themselves Les Guerrières and working in English speaking countries they called themselves The Beetlettes. Info here http://www.retrojeunesse60.com/guerrieres.html, here http://www.newspapers.com/newspage/44393641/ and here http://www.newspapers.com/newspage/42973781/. The two last links lead to a short notice about the group (ctr-f beet).

When Beatlemania hit North America in 1964, everybody wanted to get a piece of the action, which lead to a plethora of Beatle “copycat” groups, with names that were usually based on puns on the “Beatles”. Here is another example:
