I ran into Johnny years ago at our local pharmaceutical store here in Salinas, where Johnny performed a concert the night before. I grew up listening to Johnny’s records and watching his TV show. I had this impression of Johnny Cash as this big tough guy always clad in black ready for a shoot out or something like that. You know what I mean? Instead what I did meet was this soft spoken gentleman wearing a light blue v-neck sweater, slack pants and loafer shoes asking me where the cold medicine was. I though I was going to cry!
