Red velvet cheesecake
“Red Velvet” Stanley Black and his Orchestra London Records This ubiquitous dollar record is easy listening pablum. Aural wallpaper. The cover is pretty tame, lifeless and unsexy, but it does have a fifties babe surrounded by LP’s and a sweet console.

I have an old console in my kitchen that I often play music for many different occasions. I generally buy these type of records JUST for the cover. BUT… this “background music” has proven to be perfect for many thoughtful conversations across the candle lit table… either for dining or just simply sipping on a nice glass of wine with your special person. I must have a gillion of these records and I’ve probably thrown away at least twice that many. It’s because they’ve always been easy to find… CHEAP! Although I’ve seen less and less every year, especially in mint condition! Keep in mind, these records are FINITE… they are the “REAL DEAL”! Not some synthesized computer creation on a hard drive but recordings of real people, passionately playing real instruments! Isn’t that why we love these records so much? Start collecting them! Finding them won’t last forever BUT finding them, they will last you FOREVER!!!

Ah, the good ole days of three television channels, maybe a UHF box for a few more channels, and no stinking monthly $250 cable television bills!
