Dick D. is the bomb, but how about the Blue Stingrays, whose “Surf ‘n Burn” lp contains the immortal “Malibu Babylon”? A bit o’ background:
The Blue Stingrays’ story starts in ’59…the band formed that summer and created a new sound. That sound was surf music. Like those who roamed the globe for the perfect wave, The Blue Stingrays nailed the perfect sound withtheir twang heard ’round the world…. Unlike the ominous tones of Dick Dale’s manic guitar, the Blue Stingray’s take a laid-back, low-tide approach to surf, cultivating a wonderfully breezy Hawaiian feel.
Just found this one for $1 at a yard sale. He’s on his way to Daytona now to qualify for the Daytona 500 this 4th of July weekend? Happy 235th Bithday Uncle Sam & Lady Liberty! LPCL crosses the Finish Line in first place every race…
22 jr was Tony Nancy’s car in the early 60’s but I think they just slapped the number on this car to make Dick look cool (Honestly it’s impossible to improve on the cool that is Dick Dale)
