   Ouah-wie! It’s fascinating to note that dogs seem to “make different noises” in different languages. In English, “Bow-Wow”, Japan, it’s “Won”, Spain – “Guau”, Portuguese, “Au”, Italy, “bau-bau”

   Comedy writer/host Denis Norden recalled this story: he and his writing partner, the late Frank Muir, were writing a sketch in which it was necessary to find out what sound a dog makes in that particular language, so they called the respective embassy. They asked, “What sound do your dogs make?”

   The embassy thought they were CIA, sending a coded message.
