    Perhaps unsurprisingly, they’re called alphorns.

OK, now that we have come this far. How are we supposed to light it?

    Hi Matt,

OMG I just picked up a copy of this thing yesterday. And I thought I was the only one on the planet with it…

It’s called “My Schoni Schwyz – I couldn’t find a translation for it. Hey “Way Back Now, maybe it means “my giant hash pipe”.

    Hope to see you Saturday.

    Graf,

Do you know what the title means? Way Back Now and I think it has something to do with dope smoking…

It’s in dialect and means *My Beautiful Switzerland*

Alphorns were made of long strips of birchbark wound around a core. Presumably not often heard outside of the cantons of Switzerland, due to the near-impossibility of transporting them around.

    Somewhere between a trumpet and a didjeridoo…

Next time… let’s bring some “papers”.

The Alphorn ist a wooden Instrument, theire constructed in two pieces, so you can just spilt the Instrument and transport it easy. The Sound is harmonic and in a low range. This is a traditional Insrument in the alpine Region of Switzerland and Austria.

@Bob S. Mi schöni Schwiz ist Swissgerman and means My beautyful siwtzerland. The link to the hash pipe isnt that wrong: Years ago, some farmers in the swiss Mountains used to plant Hemp. And yes, the even smoked it.
