Mao sounds!

September 9th, 2008 in 45 Picture Sleeves, Illustration, Kiddies, Red Scare by lpcoverlover |

Nice one from lp cover lover, Michael Chorney in Lincoln, Vermont who writes:  “Love your site.   Heres a classic - Maoist children songs (note they are holding rifles.)   Contains the hit “Criticize Lin Piao and Discredit Him Completely” (Lin Biao (also Piao) was a famous revolutionary general who rose to become Mao’s anointed successor, but died in a 1971 plane crash after what appeared to be a coup against Mao)

I just got back from China, where I bought what I supposed was a copy of the “Mao Little Red Book” or “Little Treasure”. It was actually something else, but all over the book, every time there was Mao’s name, a name on its side had been painfully scribbled over — dozens of times. I could only grasp that the first name was “Lin”. Turns out it was Lin Biao then…

Anyway: how can I download this, comrades?

I liked the kids so much, I made them into badges, and stuck them on my Mao Bag, with the classic ?????? (serve the people).

    Some pics at http://www.computersolutions.cn/blog/?p=20

Nice! I saw Barbra Streisand with one like it. Except she had Jewish children made into buttons and placed them on her Hitler bag. Sick! Sick! Sick!

I’ve got that Mao bag too (for real). ????? wei ren min fu wu. No buttons, though.

As to Mao, I took a picture in a taxi in Xi An: a badge of the Chairman side-by-side with… the Wall Street Bull ?????).

    LPCoverLover -

Not sure if you checked back at the original blog post (http://www.computersolutions.cn/blog/?p=20), but we still have the badges (buttons for those who speak American) if you want some.

Just reply under your comment with your details (or email them to me via the blog contact page)

Anyone else can buy some over at http://www.iwantone.cn (under badges / cultural revolution).
