“The Basso Profundo, The Silver Throated Tenor and the Barbershop Quartet (John Neher, Bass, Gordon Goodman, Tenor and The Summit Four) Fontana Records
I have this album and have just added all the tunes to my iTunes library.
If memory serves we (the family) have had it in our possession since about 1958! Now it’s mine alone!
I love all the tunes and wish I could sing like John Neher, the Bass singer.

Mr Neher’s hair was darker, he had more of it and his gut was smaller.
As great as his soli were on this album, his Old Man River was unforgettable.
Technically, for any basso who’d like to emulate Mr Neher’s range, he could clearly hit “B” below “Low C”. Go for it!
