Hall Willis “Mr. Lumberjack” Canada. Arc Records.
mr. lumberjack and his amazing technicolour dreamcoat…
you should see the stripes on his underwear
Ah, ARC Records! A tresure trove of kitch. My favorite was “More Gay Songs from the Ukraine, by the John Gotch Trio”. I kid you not.
Let me chop it, let me chop it!
The “technicolour dreamcoat” is actually a Hudson’s Bay jacket, modelled after the famous Hudson’s Bay blanket, which is what the Hudson’s Bay company sold throughout Canada’s early history (and still does).
He’s a lumberjack and he’s OK!
If it was MRS. Lumberjack wearing the “dreamcoat” she’d probably be asking “Do these horizontal stripes make me look fat???”
