“Ferias” NA ITALIA.  Vox records.  So good.  Check her out.  And the smoke trail from his pipe.  You don’t see illustration much these days.  Certainly not like this.

    The illustration was made by Péricles, a very well-known cartoonist from the 40’s/50’s with a cynical verve. He committed suicide by opening the gas tap and, as a last joke, put a sign on the door reading “Please do not light matches”.
    Péricles’ most famous character is “Amigo da Onça” (”Jaguar’s Pal”), a suave guy always giving malicious advices. On this piece he advises Nat King Cole to stage a concert in Cape Town (at the peak of the Apartheid regime).
