OJee Festival Records  “Wat Hoor Ik…” Anyone know what that means?

It’s Dutch for “What do I hear?”

Do you think maybe they were thinking of this?

Okay, I guess you can’t put photos in comments. Elia Kazan’s Baby Doll is what I wa trying to suggest..

You couldn’t shoot something like that today for a commercial cover !! There isn’t room in that cot to swing a teddy bear…

Hello,

OK - I admit I immediately went for the ‘Cheesecake’ section of your wonderful LPCoverLoverBlog! Where I stumbled on the cover with the babe-in-the-box and the title “Wat hoor ik…” It’s my pleasure to inform you that the title is in Dutch and the meaning is “What am I hearing…” It is apparently a word play on a famous Dutch sixties book with the title “Wat zien ik?” (a comedy about the adventures of an Amsterdam prostitute, and yes, it was later turned into a movie…)
The sub-title “12 onverbeterlijke [= incorrigible] sex-sellers” is yet another (or rather, two) word play - this time on the sub-title of a book by Dutch author/painter Jan Cremer: “Ik [I], Jan Cremer”, which had “an incorrigible bestseller” printed on its cover .
So there you have it! Thanks for sharing your wonderful collection with us!

Best regards,
