Soul’d-jah woo-mahn
Originally issued in 1970, Soul Rebels was the first album credited to Bob Marley and the Wailers and it was also the band’s first full-length collaboration with producer Lee “Scratch” Perry for whom they had already recorded a string of fairly successful singles. Check it out and the other more than 200 ska, rock steady and early reggae singles cut by Marley before he signed with Island Records in 1973 and became Bob Marley, the international Reggae superstar.

Well that looks like the record company had no idea how to market this new fangled thing called ‘Reggae’ – so let’s stick a half naked woman with gun next to a photo of a waterfall ! I wonder if the sales took off for the wrong reasons !

actually that is an Italian (i believe) bootleg that was created when some master tapes got out of JA….. not an official Bob Marley album release….. considering it has different takes than the actual JA version you can tell this was pirated…..
a cool cover regardless, but thought i could share a bit of info…..
