“Sex and Sin of Juarex, Mexico” One of the “Cities of Night” series that served as a recorded “trip tik” to sin and pleasure.
“Classics Story Teller” on the Golden Records’ Great Literature Series. A record tie-in to the comic book series “Classics Illustrated” I was a fan of these comic books and was introduced to many of the great books by reading them. I also read Casper, Archie, Captain America, Fantatic Four, Aquaman, Batman, Superman, Richie Rich and Horror Movie magazines. Then I found a Playboy while doing my paper route and soon after sold my comic book collection.
“I guess it’s about 35 years ago when one afternoon I found this jewel in my hometown’s only record store. It’s the original from 1959, the shop’s owner looked happy to sell it, as I remember. It must have been there on his shelf since that time, ignored by everyone. As I was very young I’d never heard the name “Lightnin’ Hopkins” before and I only took a look at the Blues records ’cause there were these older guys hanging around the Jazz and Classical records giving me no chance at all. I loved the cover from the first sight and the music astonished me. I took the record home and it’s still one of my favorites after all these years and thousands of LPs that came after it.” — K. Incredible! Arranged and conducted by Stuart Phillips and his Orchestra Harry Revel’s “Music From Outer Space” (1955) MGM Records Revel’s previous three albums (“Music Out of the Moon,” “Perfume Set to Music,” and “Music for Peace of Mind”) were classic space age/exotica Theremin records, this one leaves out the theremin and is mostly wordless chorus with Orchestra.
