Check out their performance at the NME 1965 Poll Winners concert (I think it’s in Youtube somewhere). They end one of their songs with a long one-chord vamp with Van adlibbing in a way that MUST have been an influence on the Stones’ “Goin’ Home” (the Stones were in the set also), and at times he even reminds me of that OTHER Morrison.

I LOVE these Decca covers. Their second album had a similar shot, and the Stones had one or two that looked just like this. Beautiful.
