Joe Maphis was also the guy doing the soundtrack for the Beverly Hillbillies (the original 60s TV show), as well as about six kajillion other records in the 1950s. He was at least as good as, or better than, his closest rival, Chet Atkins. If you go on YouTube and do a search on Joe Maphis and/or The Collins Kids (Larry and Laurie Collins) you will find some smokin’ rock and roll.
