“Lonesome Octopus”
Talking Comics was a series of 78’s on the Belda Records label that came with a comic book and sheet music so you could play along. The record was a narrated story with music. This cartoon looks like a precursor to Hanna-Barbera’s great Squidly-diddly (who shall be featured here soon)!

I recieved this record around 1946 when I was 4 year’s of age.My father was employed on Great Lake’s ore boat’s at the time,so I had a lot of deep “water” on my mind then.
Even tho Octopi are not said to inhabit fresh water at all, that was close enough for me.I have since retrieved both part’s from Peter Muldavin and have found it recently on another site. This is the first good photo of the cover I have found. Can’t forget it,including the little hat.—Thank’s—I have just stored Octi’s photo in my picture file—(around that time Donald Duck was raising ship’s with ping-pong ball’s,an idea not far from recent method’s employed.–Maybe I’ll wait for a singing Octopus also)

Goodness! I was about the same age/time and lived in Duluth, MN. This was such a cute thing back then. Unusual that your Dad also was involved in the ore industry.
