Call me

Maybe he’s just not that into you? Or maybe you should get the cord and plug it in! There are lots of great lp covers that revolve around the phone. In addition to “where’s the phone”, I have tagged this one “the big hurt” which is that burning pain associated with unrequited love. Look for the others and you’ll get the picture.

The Banana Splits

The Banana Splits were on Saturday mornings when I was growing up. I think I knew it was bad even then, but the theme song was catchy and hey what else was I going to do while eating my cereal? – talk to my mom!? In fact, there was a Banana Split flexi 45 issued in a cereal box back then. I have it somewhere. I don’t remember which cereal though. Fyi, this record sells for about $100.

Here’s more Jim Flora cover art. This one’s a 45 on RCA which issued many Flora covers.

Songs for Swinging Mothers

This is one of a series of mock record covers (no lps were included) that came with a black, round greeting card that looked like a record.   I believe there were eleven issued on High In-Fidelity Records.   I think mid-sixties.   They are all funny, I’ll put them up over time!

Pop life

Ann Arbor, Michigan.   1963.   High school.   That’s Jim Osterberg, er, “Iggy” Pop on drums on the far right.     Maybe this is where he got the nickname “Iggy”.
