A French Barclay release of early Prestige sessions. Thelonious Monk the composer and pianist is one of the archetects of modern jazz. See the Clint Eastwood produced documentary “Straight, No Chaser” for a moving portrait of the artist and reclusive genious later in his career.

Artsy double exposure on this low budget polka record. The simple title and plain colored type are nice too.

This was a controversial cover that showed more skin than was allowed in the late fifties. Good thing he had a neck tie in the studio at least. This record in good shape goes for a few hundred dollars.

This is a cool Prestige record from the fifties called “The Musings of Miles”. There’s no type on the cover just this straight forward photo of Miles (who was notorious for turning his backs on audiences).

Many jazz album covers are timeless, essential portraits of the artists in their prime. This one captures Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillespie beautifully and is suitable for framing.
