The Friendly Giant was also seen in the U.S., not just in Canada. This is way before PBS was PBS. Back then, it was called NET (for National Educational Television).
Wow, thanks to this I just spent an hour watching “Friendly Giant” clips on YouTube… I’d all but forgotten watching that show, in NJ, in the mid-60s. The available clips are all from the 80s, but the wonderful thing is, the show was exactly the same. Too bad there’s no place for a slow-moving gentle kid’s show like that anymore.
