“Top Hits’ The Spiders (Jubilee Records Trading Co. of Singapore) I have not been able to find any information about The Spiders. Of course, these are not The Spiders from Japan (or from New Orleans). And, as far as I know, this is the only record that they released.

AllMusic.com has an entry for a Japanese band called The Spiders, describing them as “maybe the most renowned 1960s Japanese vocal rock group, certainly among collectors outside of Japan.” Are we sure it’s not them, or someone covering their hits?

This is definitely not the Japanese group. This record was made in Singapore. There was no such group as The Spiders in Singapore – this record was recorded by another well known Singapore band The Trailers who adopted this pseudonym for the Jubilee recordings. The Trailers recorded for Cosdel in 1967 and RCA in 1968. They made one EP and two LPs for Jubilee as The Spiders in 1971.

This could be for a Mexican hard rock band from the late sixties and seventies. They were known for psychedelic sounds and the cover fits the bill. great site by the way. your work is appreciated! cheers from Chicago!
