This looks nearly identical to the psychedelic ’60’s painted human skull color photo on J.G. Ballard Grove Press short story collection
‘Love and Napalm : Export U.S.A ca. 1972 dust jacket image.
There appears to be a color shift due to gels on the lighting and the angle differs a tad (3/4 & head on) but the placement of the painted flowers is near identical.
Or,
were these 2 different psych fetish skulls both souvenirs of Vietnam War as the J.G.B. collection title seemingly alludes to –
signifying the death of the peace & love flower child ’60’s vibe/spirit ?!?
