Mary Tyler Moore: The cheesecake years

December 21st, 2006 in Bachelor Pad and Lounge, Starlets and Pin-ups by lpcoverlover | 12 Comments

Before she was LAURA PETRIE, the happy homemaker on the Dick Van Dyke Show, Mary Tyler Moore modeled and was annonomously featured on (to date I count 13) low budget lp covers. She was so easy on the eyes that she seemed right at home on the covers of Latin music, Italian music and British music records for example.

    Mary Richards was the Mary Tyler Moore show.

    Laura Petrie was her role on Dick Van Dyke (DVD was Rob)

    Darn it! I thought I had them all! I only have four. Two Latin covers, this being one, a Gigi cover, and one of her in a black leotard and heels with her arm up. What a doll!

    The Gigi cover is great. She looks like she did in the comedy series;

    Mary Tyler Moore was so beautiful in her youth. Still is in her own way. Its good thag she stayed classy and never posed nude even though many men dreamed of this during the Dick Van Dyke years.

    The glorious 60s sirens no doubt, along with Barbara Eden and Elizabeth Montgomery (Jeannie / Bewitched)… These women had class and beauty in the cheesecake mix…

    Hi…not sure there were 13 (US) Covers MTM did. Please provide Titles, Labels and/or Examples. I have many different Covers she did & believe I have them all ~ after 20+ years of searching & collecting. If there truly are 13 LPs with her on the cover I’d like to know of them. Any chance of creating and sending me the list?

    Thanks.

    Greetings: I collect LP albums with famous movie & TV stars featured on the front covers. I believe I have 7 of the MTM albums. Please send a list of what you have of MTM and I’ll see if I have something you don’t (or vice-versa). Thank you.

    I have to correct myself, Mary is in a gold leotard, not black, and today’s find is her on a Golden Tone cover, looking off to the right, for the music of Gigi. It set me back 74 cents.
