“The Horn Meets the Hornet” – what a concept! I imagine the Green Hornet going backstage after an Al Hirt concert on Bourbon Street in New Orleans to meet when this candid photo was snapped.

Here’s a nice one from a cool Jazz record blog called Orgy in Rythm. In the top right corner RCA Victor seems to put this in the “Savage Drums” category!

Ace recording artist Huey “Piano” Smith hit the top of the R&B charts with the classic “Rockin’ Pneumonia and the Boogie Woogie Flu.” A double sided classic “Don’t You Just Know It” b/w “High Blood Pressure” was released the following year.

These guys sure were good sports. I can imagine the environment in the Marketing and Art Depts. of ABC-Paramount in these days. They must have had a lot of laughs.
