A great little party Christmas album from Jimmy Pelham — recorded in a style that’s somewhere between that of early Redd Foxx, and later work by Blowfly! Jimmy’s talking and singing throughout — telling some off-color stories and mixing in song parodies — all before a very enthusiastic audience!
Jimmy “The Funky Tramp” Lynch — “He Do’s It Again” “Everything he do’s is funky. Everything he says is funky. He is just plain funky!” Check out the jugs of “Black Lightening” and “Liquid Marijuana”!!
Shocking! Turning the Zodiac into a chart of afro-topped couples in sexual positions! Like a black John and Yoko (though clearly not “Two Virgins.”). The best is that this guy’s face is photoshopped onto mandingo’s body. You can listen to some of this here.
When was the last time you were at a party like this? I won’t file this under “cheesecake”. Blowfly made lots of crude, offensive and funny records on the Weird World label. His cover “art” is in a class of its own. There are many black comedy records that are “adult” or “risque” from the fifties, sixties and seventies. I like this one
