“Buffalo Bill” by Zwarte Schaduw on Fiesta Records. I don’t know how this one was printed, but it appears almost hand colored. You can almost feel the ink and the color is amazing.
looks to me like a typical example of the old ‘letterpress’ printing technique, with some mis-registration of the ink plates…oh sorry, I went into designer mode there for a second! Of course, if you’ve got the sleeve with you there, you’re in a much better place to judge whether it was hand coloured or not. Actually, you can now get a Photoshop plugin to replicate this look. I have it and it’s fantastic.

You should see the other covers of these “fiesta records” all made in the late fifties I guess: http://www.minigroove.nl/fiesta_records.html.
BTW “zwarte schaduw” is not the artist but the subtitle (meaning “The Black shadow”)

zwarte schaduw is dutch and means: black shadow (in case you are wondering)
