David Whitfield  “Alone”  Decca Records (UK)  (1961) He was the first UK male vocalist to earn a gold disc; the first to have a hit placed in the Top Ten of the Billboard Hot 100; and the first artist from Britain to sell over one million copies of one disc in America!  Not bad if you have to be alone.

MMMM…The Mills Brothers!  Dot Records   (All the songs start with the letter M!  High concept!)  I love these guys!   This is from the sixties, but they were great from the 1930′s on.  I highly recommend you check them out.  Here’s just one:  “Be My Life’s Companion”

Anita O’Day  “Collates”  CLEF Records (Produced by Norman Granz)  (1953)   A 10 inch LP containing a compilation of eight previous singles.  Re-released as Anita O’Day by Norgran Records in 1955 and with four additional tracks as The Lady Is A Tramp on the Verve label in 1957.  A classic David Stone Martin illustration.
