We had this "album" in our family. For years, at every birthday, my dad would bring it out and play it.

Only last month my brother was reminiscing abut it at my kids' birthday party.

I wonder whatever hoppend to it.

Hoppy was a bit before my time too. Interesting story about William Boyd, who played Hopalong Cassidy.

Boyd bought the rights to the Hopalong Cassidy character from the original author in 1944 and subsequently bought rights to the Hoppy films made up until that time.

When television started to expand after WW2, Boyd approached NBC-TV with the Hoppy movies edited for broadcast. A little later he made a series especially for TV. The guy, who was never a major movie star, made a fortune.
