I don’t know your exact reference sRw, having lived abroad since 1971. But you’ve touched on something there. I think when my gaze fell on him, he was looking at me without his caring “America’s dean of physicians” face on... nor even his giving a shit for anybody face on. And he would have seen my blood go cold. But I’m getting unintentionally close to slandering the man now.

Hey... is that factual? I'm famous? WOOAAAAH! Who wudda thunk?
I’m afraid I don’t have any other relics from this episode. Only the dummy album... an LP-sized piece of cardboard with the cover pasted on it. I’ve taken recto-verso shots of it if you’d like. The photo continues a bit on the flipside. Looking at it, one thinks “a flimsy business, fame, idn’t it?” And I really hate that bobby pin. Never been a bobby pin person. I was probably wearing bobby socks though.
Seriously, I don’t even recall that shot of me being taken. At no point was I asked to pose. They seemed to be fussing me up and doing light checks and calling me “dear” before the taking what I assumed would be a shot of both of us. I suspect I am just leaning on my elbow while waiting. I still lean like that.
What surprises me whenever I come across this bit of memorabilia is how they got a warm expression out of the doctor. You’re 16-ish, you find yourself in a big ad company photo shoot. Everyone is really busy but really nice. And there is the doctor, impatient, snappish, overweening. The guy looked at me once and my blood ran cold. Since I wasn’t aware of any shots actually being taken, I went home thinking there were going to be other sessions, and the sound sessions, and wondering what I was doing in all this. And then ages later, Dad gives me the dummy album, and Mom tells me that I got a check for $500, which she said she would keep for me... and I assume she did. We kids were used in ads once in a while ...flying a kite in an insurance ad; playing the engrossed student in a Bell & Howell school projector ad; on billboards, holding blue ribbons next to giant farm animals in a cold-cut manufacturer ad. (That last shoot was slightly dangerous.) Guess it was easier all round to use an employee’s brat than photographic model agency kids. Anyway... you guys are fabulous. It is great revisiting Dr. Fishbein's archive of horrors with you. As I said... I had no idea the record was ever released. Love to hear an undoubtedly skin-crawlingly creeeeepy mp3. Particularly since I still know practically nothing about sex!
