Man, when I read Bossa Nova Bacchanal I imediately pictured plump men and women in a sedate, calm orgy listening to musak. "Bacchanal" basicaly means "orgy" in Portuguese. Great discovery, though, I will forward this to some bossanova coverlovers friends of mine.

At first I had a hard time following the progression until I figured out that this number was a "jam" improvisation. These situations are more "group feel" rather than a specific idea. I heard the unison riff that was worked out with the sax and guitar (otherwise known as the hook) not to lead but allowing themselves to be complemented by a complex solid rhythm section to go wherever they feel and take it wherever they want to. The sax following more of a free-form idea and the guitar and bass "tended" to follow the chord changes. It is all good! Using acoustic instruments like these not only fill a room nicely but fill the heart and sole too. (If you let it) Whether you're a player or not, when it happens and you're there, it's a real nice place to be.

Thanks for posting the music. Keep up the good work!!! :-)

What a lovely, enchanting tune that is. I will definitely look out for that one on my travels. Thanks very much LPCoverLover!
